You read that right, I’ve joined a band. Ovada is the name. It’s interesting music, and it’s a chance to play with one of my favorite musicians in the world, Joseph Henry. We’ve got a couple gigs next week in Charleston and Morgantown. I expect I’ll be scared stiff. It’s been sooooooooooo long since I played out in a band. I’ll have to keep this short because I need to practice and change strings.
We’re having a Songpull this Saturday night at the house. I can’t wait! New songwriters are coming along with our good friend/producer/giver of the funny, Hardy. I’m looking for a good time to be had.
I want to thank everyone that helped with the Relay for Life project! It’s still open for donations if you feel the need! When I do take it down, I probably won’t come back to this post to update. Just understand that eventually Relay for Life will take their page down and that will wrap things up.
Special thanks to Rudy from Radio Free Charleston. He made a rather generous donation the day before the walk that put us over the top and I’m still kind of speechless.
I also want to thank Brian over at Serve the Song for putting a link up to the project as well as Brock for his constant pimping on Myspace. Likewise for Mike!! Thank you all!
In other gig news, I’ll be playing at the Emerson Grill tomorrow night along with a host of other songwriters. Check out the details at songwriter night.
And yeah, I’m trying to get up the nerve to start recording while still working on the house. That’s the view from here…
